The Organising Committee of the 11th Ghana International Book Fair cordially invite you to the 11th edition of the Ghana International Book Fair. (GIBF) scheduled for 4th-9th September 2012 at the Ghana International Trade Fair Site, La, Accra.

The Fair will showcase Ghana’s Cultural Heritage especially in the literary sphere. It will provide an opportunity for the Book Industry to display their new editions and a marketplace for trading of rights among stakeholders. A platform is also being created for dialogue with policymakers to find solutions to enhance the reading culture especially among school-going children, addressing issues that relate to books and their impact on National Development. Hence, the theme for this year’s Book Fair: “Ehancing Literacy, through Libraries - A Reading Nation is A Winning Nation”.

We believe that the period of the Fair should also be an ideal opportunity to showcase the rich culture of India & Ghana through the medium of Music, Dance, Theatre, Films, Art and Food.

WHO CAN PARTICIPATE

Ghana International Book Fair promises to offer a unique opportunity for stakeholders in the book industry and other related sectors of the economy to network and trade.

CURRENCY AND BANKING HOURS

The exchange rate of the local currency which is the Ghana Cedi (GH¢) is GH¢1.67 to $1.00.Major banks operate from 8:30am to 4:30pm Monday to Friday. However, some financial institutions do operate on Saturdays.

TERMS OF PAYMENT

A cheque can be issued in the name of Ghana Book Publishers Association

Foreign exhibitors can transfer monies through Standard Chartered Bank account number 8701502511000, Foreign Branch, High Street, Accra-Ghana, Swift Code: SCBLGHAC

BOOKING

Booking for exhibition space can be made  on-line via our website www.ghanabookfair.com.  Please note that information on application form received after this date may not be included in the Official Exhibitors Directory.

No entry would be made in the exhibitors’ directory for any reservation not backed with payment before the closing date for booking.

DISCOUNT

Confirmed applications received with full payment on or before  31st May, 2012 will attract 20% discount on exhibition stand(s) as indicated on the official Application Form. Please fill and return completed form to the GBPA Secretariat.

ADVERTISEMENT IN THE FAIR CATALOGUE AND PROGRAMME

Opportunity exists for exhibitors and non-participating organisations to advertise their products and services in the GIBF Exhibitors Catalogue and programme. Samples of adverts must be on CD or sent via email to the Secretariat and printout attached. Advert dimension is 15 × 20cm and in jpeg format. Payment for advert booking must reach the Secretariat not later than 25th July 2012.
